6 Reasons Why You Must Travel Alone At least Once In Your Lifetime

A solo trip has a lot to teach you. If you won’t try it, you’d never know what you missed. Give it a chance to become a rebel for life and break-free from all the barriers that have been binding you from living your life on your terms.

1. Break the monotony
You learn to live without a routine in your life. You probably won’t have access to television or the internet and you’ll have to find new ways to make use of your time. You’ll probably pick up a new hobby - reading, running or writing for that matter. This can be a trip to discover a new hobby or talent that you’d never even thought of pursuing earlier.
2. Become independent
There will be lots of times when your phone won’t have the network or the Internet and you won’t have another person to depend upon, there you’ll learn to live an independent life. You’ll not be reachable but you’ll find ways to reach out to your loved ones to tell them that you’re safe.
3. You understand yourself better
You spend more time alone. You get more time for self retrospection. You react the way you want to, talk the way you want to and you make decisions with zero external influence. This gives you the confidence to be yourself without worrying about what people will think of you. You have no inhibitions because there’s absolutely nobody around you who’ll judge you. This is the best time to rediscover yourself, to find out who you really are.
4. You reach out to people confidently
You probably won’t know the language and you’ll obviously not have a translator walking around with you so either you’ll learn a new language or you’ll reach out to people anyway. You’ll not shy away from using random phrases and vocabulary because that will be your only way of communication. Even if you look foolish in trying to communicate in a language you’ve never even heard of before, you will still feel confident.
5. You will make friends for life
Reaching out to people who don’t speak the same language as you is one thing but making them your friends is a winner. You are also most likely to meet more like-minded people who are courageous enough to travel solo, just like you. You’ll automatically get along with such people because you’ll help them and they’ll help you in your challenges as you’ll understand each other that well.
6. You’ll realize how beautiful the world really is
You’re more observant of things when you’re alone and this is what will happen when you travel solo. You will sit at a mountain peak or by the riverside and see the sunset, hear the birds chirping and feel the wind, these are simple pleasures of life that we never notice when we are busy in our daily lives. You get a chance to experience these because you have no other commitments. You do what you feel like, realize what you love and halt for a second and see the beautiful life, you’ll know why your life was dull all this while. It’s because you had forgotten how it feels to be a part of this beautiful planet. You were stuck in a rut but this break will bring you back to life and make you the happiest person in the world.
