Katie Brown, editor in chief at Yahoo Makers, was thrilled to visit with our friends at Live with Kelly and Michaeltoday! It was a blast. Kelly and Michael got their hands in the mix with Katie’s, and created some fun and easy crafts for Valentine’s Day.
Although Michael seemed the most interested in the Champagne cocktail (we can’t blame him), the three of them had a lot of fun cutting hearts into pancakes and playing around with paint.
You can have fun doing the same! Here are some of the projects Katie, Kelly and Michael created today.
Brighten Up Breakfast in Bed on Valentine’s Day
Here’s a fun and easy way to serve up breakfast-in-bed this Valentine’s Day.
1. Center the napkin edge to the ribbon to create a waistband with ties. Then iron it in place with Stitch Witch
2. Cut out a heart-shape from card stock.
3. Place the heart on the apron, dip the pencil into a small amount of paint and begin stamping the eraser around the heart. Re-dip the eraser into the paint as needed. Let the heart dry before tying on the apron.
A Clever, Tasty Way to Keep Your Bubbles Chilled
Keep your delicious mimosas chilled without losing any of the bubbles. Adding a frozen tangerine will not only keep your drinks nice and sparkling, it will make them look beautiful too!
1. Split your pancake batter in two, and add 3-4 drops of red food coloring to one half. Mix it well to incorporate the color. If you’d like it more red, add a few more drops.
2. Make the pancakes according to the recipes instructions. Make an equal amount of red and plain pancakes.
3. Lay your pancakes on a cutting board, and cut out the centers of the pancakes with the cookie cutter.
4. Place the red heart cut-outs in the plain pancakes, and the plain hearts in the red pancakes.
